Yad Vashem has launched a new digital exhibition for you to experience this Yom Hashoah – Holocaust Remembrance Day. The exhibit takes you through the last letters written by children and adults to their loved ones before the end of the Holocaust in 1944.
Most writers did not know it would be their last letter as they believed the Holocaust was about to end. Letters have been donated by families from across the world and they express raw emotion and longing for a better time.
We sat down with Yona Kobo with curator of the exhibit to hear about the letters and how she got involved in collecting and cataloging them.
