It is going to be a HOT summer full of exciting activities and special festivals. Here is a taste of what you can expect to help you plan your FUN In Jerusalem. For exact dates please check our calendar.
FESTIVALS – July & August
Jerusalem Light Festival – usually held at the end of June.
Walk through the alleyways of the Old City as you explore incredible light installations and exhibits. This festival brings the Old City alive for kids, teens and adults. Follow the “light path” and you can see it all. The festival is FREE.
Festival at the Botanical Gardens – July & August
The Botanical Gardens hosts an annual festival for kids during the summer. In the past they have had Playmobil festivals and dinosaur festivals. The festivals are always interactive with different stations set up to entertain school age kids.
Jerusalem Film Festival – End of July
The Jerusalem Film Festival takes place at the Jerusalem Cinemateque and celebrates the year’s best film with an emphasis on Israeli Film. The festival begins with an outdoor performance at the Sultan’s Pool in the presence of famous film directors and producers. Schedule will be publicized shortly.
Jerusalem Wine Festival – July
The Wine Festival at the Israel Museum is one of the favorite summer events. Sample wine from Israel’s leading wineries in the Art Garden of the museum. The museum will stay open till 9pm and ticket to the festival includes access to exhibits. Tickets include a wine glass with unlimited tastings. Book in advance because the festival sells out.
Arts & Crafts Festival (Hutzot Hayotzer) – August
This outdoor art festival is a Jerusalem favorite. Come out in the evening to see local Israeli artists display their crafts as well as the International area featuring artists by country. Each night there is a live musical performance of Israel’s most popular singers. A ticket to the festival includes access to the musical performance. They also have a large food fair filled with kosher dinner and snack options. Tickets can be purchased through Bimot.
Doors to the fair open at 6:00pm (8:30pm on Sat night)
Concerts start at 9:00pm (open seating) (10:00pm Sat night)
International Puppet Festival – August
The Puppet Festival includes shows for adults and for kids that take place at the Train Theater and in a variety of other theater and park locations in the city. Using puppetry and stage art the stories are told to the audience.
End of Summer Festival (Jerusalem Theater) - August
Three days of music and art, for children and adults in the Jerusalem Theater and in their promenade.
Children’s shows during the afternoon and notable artists during the evening and night.
