The Jerusalem Bird Observatory is located on an acre between the Knesset and the Supreme Court.
The JBO runs activities and workshops for the whole family. The JBO has a bird ringing station and a visitors center. The workshops and events throughout the year include learning about birds and migration and night hikes.
This is a great way to introduce your children to the study of birds and nature in Jerusalem.
Most of the activities can be arranged in advance in English.
Tree Planting
The JBO offers the option of planting seedlings in Jerusalem for families and groups. The seedlings that are planted are local species that will add to the biodiversity of the city, encouraging birds, butterflies and insects by providing food and nesting sites.
Plant in honor of a life cycle event such as a birth or bar/bat mitzvah, in memory of a loved one, or to celebrate your visit to Jerusalem.
Advanced booking is required (at least a week) and prices vary according to type of plants and number planted.
