Pesach in Gush Etzion

The Gush Etzion area is located 15 minutes outside Jerusalem and is rich with history, adventure and fun. The area played an important role in protecting Jerusalem during the ’67 War and today is home to many English speakers.

The area has over 20 fun activities and the Etzion Tourism Board is a great resource for reading about all of them. We can’t list them all but here are our favorites…

Oz Ve’Gaon

Above the Gush Etzion junction, in a pine forest, three days of spiritual and educational experience with Eshkolot.

  • Building the Temple in a 2×4 size
  • Following the water channel to Jerusalem – ODT activity
  • Hallel and Song in the Temple – experience with musical instruments
  • Drumming workshop
  • Heroes of Israel ‘Leaving Egypt’ – family escape game
  • Around Oz Ve’Gaon – a family trail about the story of the renewed settlement

In the reserve, you’ll find a beautiful water spring, basketball court, picnic seating areas, drinking fountains and restrooms.

Deer Land Farm

Deer Land Farm is located in the heart of the ‘Etzion Forest,’ a magical and breathtakingly beautiful place. The farm has a huge extreme sports area and adventure facilities for the whole family. This includes the longest zipline in the country, climbing walls, a rope park, bungee trampolines, mini amusement park rides, target shooting, an impressive zoo, a vintage vehicle museum, and more. The farm offers a variety of services for visitors: shaded seating areas, BBQ spots, a souvenir shop, accommodation for groups and families, and more.

Kashuela Farm

What’s planned?
  •  Enjoy a picnic, take in the blooming flowers and the forest, and hike along the new scenic road.
  •  Participate in a shepherding workshop and go with the flock to the forest (at 11am & 1:30pm).
  • Join a tour and hear all  about the farm, settlement, agriculture, Zionism, the story of the Lamed Hey convoy, and Gush Etzion (at 9:30am, 12 noon & 3pm).

Biyar Aqueduct

A fun and wet tour in an underground tunnel, 12 meters deep and 130 meters long. The tunnel is part of the water system built by Herod to transport water to Jerusalem and the Temple. The route includes an experiential walk in the tunnel, with flowing water reaching up to knee height. During Chol Hamoed, visitors can enjoy access to the tunnel, inflatables, lawns, picnic areas, children’s workshops, guided tours in the tunnel, and more. An exciting audio-visual show in an underground room (no need to enter the water).
