General Useful Tips: “From the Mouths of Locals”
1. EASY PARK
If you plan to rent a car make sure to buy a parking pass from any Yellow Gas Station or Post Office. Each time you need to park you place the pass in your driver window and turn it on. The pass will work for up to 2 hours and deduct the payment as needed. If you return before the two hours are over, then you turn off the pass and are not charged for the full two hours. This is a great way to save on parking and not have to fish for shekalim each time you park. The pass is also good in other cities in Israel, just make sure to change the code each time you go to a new city.
