Tower of David: Museum Of The History Of Jerusalem
Jaffa gate at the Entrance to the Old City 02-6265333
The Tower of David Museum of the History of Jerusalem is located in the medieval citadel known as the Tower of David, near the JaffaGate, the historic entrance to the Old City. The Museum presents Jerusalem’s story. It details the major events in its history beginning with the first evidence of a city in Jerusalem in the second millennium BCE, until the city became the capital of the State of Israel, as well as its significance to three religions.
Children love to walk around the Citadel and the fortress and hear the stories of Jerusalem’s history; envisioning the old moat, draw bridge and tower. They can see a 360 degree view of Jerusalem when they climb the tower. The Museum has special children’s activities including treasure hunts and exhibitions. The Museum also hosts the Night Spectacular sound and light show each evening.
